MARCH 2022. Social responsibility is one of the key values that make up Ingenio San Isidro’s comprehensive vision. In that sense, the Ingenio San Isidro Soccer School was born on October 20th, 2018. The next year will be the fifth anniversary.
Today, a total of 120 boys and girls are enrolled in sports activities. Not only from Campo Santo, but also from the towns of General Güemes, Betania and El Bordo. The different divisions compete in the Güemes Children’s Soccer Association (AFIG, Asociación de Fútbol Infantil de Güemes) and in two Under-17 categories.
For Cristian Ruiz, the school’s director and head coach, “soccer is a fundamental tool for the children’s containment and growth”. The shared time is a life experience and also transfers to the families. “It’s beautiful and we want to keep growing,” comments the teacher.
One of the objectives of the Ingenio San Isidro Soccer School for next year is to be able to have its own training facilities. The task is now focused on the search for a strategic place that will allow the school to be installed with all the amenities. This will be one more step in the development of this great initiative, which will have a great impact on the region.
